Finally closing the gap between Design and Code

Finally closing the gap between Design and Code.

Context isn't just nice to have—it's everything.

In a previous post I mentioned kicking off my Portfolio 2.0 project with Cursor? Here is the progress report.

The Win: I got Cursor to help me set up a proper GitHub repo and link it to Netlify. The integration is seamless—it is all working and the pipeline is flowing!

The Struggle: The design implementation was a different story. I was originally just giving Cursor my Figma URLs. As you can see in the middle image, it was... a job. 🤦♀️ It "got the vibe," but the layout was chaos. I was spending hours painstakingly chatting about each correction with Cursor. That worked and Cursor was pleasant (LOL) but ... it was painstaking.

The Fix: Today, I took the time to connect the official Figma MCP (Model Context Protocol).

The difference was instant. Cursor corrected the layout immediately because it could actually read the design structure, not just guess at pixels. The result (on the right) is finally honoring the original Figma frames.

Context isn't just nice to have—it's everything.
